...talk about building bits....Josh is building a block from a 1920's Packard Indy car....only what you see is what he started with.....crank will be machined first, from drawings he has drawn up......respect.

That's some impressive engineering skills
Is it a case that he to likes to make things from scratch or they are no longer available
...only three cars were built............
bloody hell. now thats engineering at its best
been a while since i caught up to things but looks like things are slowly motivating, keep it up fella
its not dead till it's buried!
T.I.T engineering. "Feel the power!"
..Caprimentle...still chipping away.....lets hope we all have a better 2014......take care mate....
....OK .....lets start this year as I mean to go on...got to move this project forward......almost got the rear chassis worked out,and picked these fenders up....they are glass items taken from a 1936 Ford spare wheel cover......hope I don't need them, but better safe than sorry.........

looking great
thanks for the kind comments ...still getting tons of comments on your thermostat housing....
maybe i should make more of them....
mine works really well with it.... and the duratec water system, fills far nicer than my old pinto.... does not seem to airlock at all

...anguz,glad it works......when I first asked about a replacement for the plastic thermostat,I was a little confused over some of the replies I had......cavitation,flow rates,overheating....ah well you know what they say ...the proof of the pudding is in the eating......nice one mate...
thats looking " ard as nails", shame about having to have the fenders but painting them black may help lose them,
and them trumpets them wheels aswell well the whole package really
keep it up budd,

...happy new year to you RWD.....know what you are saying,I think I will chance it without, but if built in now, easier to fit if I have to......
......OK managed to do some work, even though it hasn't stopped raining.....managed to fit my 1955 grill into the 1959 nose cone.....does not sound like a big deal, but you would not believe how hard it was to get that round grill into the square nose, and look as if it was meant to be there.....but its done, painted, and now the rest of the body can come off to be finished......also needed a new ''scoop'' to take some oil lines.....could not get any more of the scoops I already had,so,made one in fiberglass....unlike the polished ones fitted, this will be painted body colour......my fuel system is coming on,but the Mallory ''lift pump''I had on the shelf needed rebuilding, will be cheaper to get a Facet one (if that will do the job)......so some progress has been made....off to the States next week,so thats March over...nose to the grind stone when I get back....

.......oh heck got to go...I'll explain later....
.....sorry about that......when her indoors calls and all that.....OK....been having problems with my brake pedal and cylinders.....planned on only using single pot,but all advice pointed towards two,so rethink needed.Thats where my mate Gary from Indiana came up trumps.Gary rebuilds Vintage Indy Roadsters, and this is what they used......so the photos are of my version.....plate will be welded onto the cowl loop, cylinders mounted, and that will be it....at least thats the plan...............
Hi bud been too long again. About time this seen the road ain't it.
As for the brakes I would defo go bias twin cylinders which looks like you are.
I got myself another project now but it's tucked away for a bit while I Finnish welding and body on a mates car.
......Trig you are right,I need to get a move on,but it will get there......don't know where I found the time to build stuff when I was working.Glad to hear you are into another project, can't wait to see it......
This project never ceases to amaze me, it's fantastic to watch it evolve and your solutions to the problems you encounter. Keep up the great work.
.....thanks for the kind comments Unclebuck.....evolution can't come quick enough sometimes....
Bump from page 3
......OK....still working on the''old girl''....ALL the bodywork is now fitted, only hood sides to be louvred and thats it....going on vacation, but my friend ''Joe'' the painter will take the hood and cowl to be done....brakes still giving me problems, but will get there.....rear of chassis only needs final welding, and fuel system is almost done.....made the screen out of ''Lexan'',and its fitted, and then only the computer thing......
Last edited by Blackvette59; 12-05-2014 at 12:54.
....managed to squeeze and inch off the oil filter plate, and managed to mount the Oberg filter housing.....that's another headache over.....so now all the oil lines are in,all the fuel lines have been built, and the brake lines are going in next.....that computer things getting closer....
Looking good now me old mate
....Trig still plugging away.....finally bolted the sucker down....
....really should stop taking photo's and get on with it.....

......had hood sides punched by ''Linda''......thats all the body work done.....next,prep for paint.....
......had a good day today....built the firewall and installed it into the car.....not a hard job,but took me all day....now I can finish the fuel supply and return lines, once I find the bulk head fitting I know I have somewhere......
Nice to see bit of progress buddy
.....thanks Trig.....I really seem to be getting on with lots at the moment......
Good boy.
...I know.....
Your be doing this soon.
......or more like this Trig..... getting on with lots of little jobs that all add up.....got a few weeks until I go to the States and hoping this ''high'' continues....
....oh great photo Trig.....that's putting on the ''style''....glad to see the winged camera thing is still on there, even though the camera has fallen into the window

....now this may not seem like a big deal, but fuel line feeds are all in,only have to plumb return lines, and thats all done......I'm running out of things to do ! ......got a few weeks until I go to the States, and hope to have it ready for tear down before I go....its then down to electrics....
Have any of you guys used Waterless Cooling Systems? any good ?
Loving the fuel cut off even has my name on it.
.....thought you'd like that...
......only had a couple of hours to spare today( been invited to a ''private car show'',well the Corvette has,so thought I'd better give it a clean)so tried my hand at '' engine turning ''.......not too shabby....getting all the welding finished ( you know ..the bits you tacked, but forgot about)...I'll make some propshaft hoops, and just getting all those little jobs finished off.....it is getting there....
