heres my guess, they are designed to only turn right, so you want the weight as far left as possible

Graham.....nothing as complicated as that.....the Watson car I want to build has an Offenhauser four cylinder twin cam in it....if I use a Small Block Chevy kicked over 25 degrees, the exhaust comes out right where the Offy would be...that's it...oh and there is the $200,000 dollars to buy one.....this Watson had three valves jam at the Historics at Indy...turned up in my friends shop to get fixed...no damage, apart from the valves..oh and the $55000 repair bill....

...oh this is not a good example......its a ''lay down''....this is the car....but you are ''kind of ''right....they are set to only turn one way,but in the ever need to go quick,by offsetting the motor the driver sat alongside...this was a big step forward in getting the cars lower....the lay downs went a bit futher...the motors were run on their sides....these were the lowest these beautiful roadsters got before the Coopers and Lotus cars took on Indy...nothing was the same ever again.....

....the older they get,the harder they are to find and buy.....at least you can get parts for these engines...or if you can't my friend will build them for you......crank cases, superchargers, you name it...oh here's a shot of the roadster fully clothed...

Hurry back and be sure to take a video!!!!

My old man still has his immaculate original Vincent speedway sidecar sitting in his shed under a blanket. Somehow every time I see this car I picture it sitting side by side.....

    Blackvette,

In case you're interested, re my last post,

    My memory was almost right......

I made it over to my fathers place, moved some boxes, then some more boxes, a few old tents, removed a blanket or two and found this....

    As raced in the 60's....

I still have to complete a period looking, wooden decked trailer and will then will tow it behind my cortina to shows. Also have set of period leathers and helmet etc with it.
