    Thimble Dromes and Pushers

When I was in the States early this year looking for parts for my Sprint car,I came across this COX Pusher (no motor...so you had to push it !!!)for a few dollars.Although I am not very good at model building, this only needed restoring. This car was built in the 1950's,but I could not believe how many parts were available, and how much these models sell for.The 'restoration' was done over a 2 month period.

After the repairs were completed,it was painted, the wheels polished, and then I had to wait for the postman to bring me a new grill, exhaust, hand brake, and some hood straps and racing numbers..............

Never head of them, they are very nice though!

What size are the motors in the red and blue ones?

    Re: Thimble Dromes and Pushers

The motors are 1/2cc....these are non function motors.....the cost of restoring these motors and gear box's to run, would make your eyes water.( $1500 to $2000) These models were always expensive, and thats why Cox made Pushers. When new ,and tethered to a pole, these could go 60 mph......or so I'am told. For me ,they look cool, and they look good on the shelf. If I could ever afford to get running motors,I really don't fancy running them.....especially if they slipped the leash.....

Trig....you've got good taste......now this may test the best of you......I love Tin Tin,and love the Moulsinart/Atlas models they made to look just like the cartoons.....they stopped production about 2003 I think, but every time I go to France I look for them (bought one in the South of France a few weeks ago)......
