    What are these struts??

Please can someone tell me what the strut on the left is? if it helps the measurement from bottom of the spring cup (where the coil spring would sit) to the centre of the stub axle is approx 350mm, on the Bilstein Strut on the right (that were on my car) that measurement is about 310mm? As you can see my GAZ insert disappears inside the casing so can't be tightened down, someone on here suggested a spacer in the bottom of the tube, but does that mean that my car will sit 40mm higher than on the billies??

    many thanks!!

Look like painted RS2000 or capri struts painted to look like 2.8i Billies !

    Re: What are these struts??

I was under the impression the that Mk1 Escort struts were 1.5"s taller than Mk2 and Capri so I think that Clint is correct, Probably MK1 struts that have been painted blue.

Yes the car will be 40mm higher on the front end with these sturts compared with the Bilsteins unless you modify the height of the spring cup or use shorter springs.
    Kind regards
    Nick

Hopefully this will help someone in the future....

Left to right seems to be: Bilstein, RS Mk2, RS Mk1. (please correct me if I'm wrong)

Difference mainly being that from the centre of the stub axle to the spring cup seat (where the spring would actually sit) is approx 310mm for Bilstein and Mk2 RS, and approx 350mm Mk1 RS.
