    Norris Motorsport & Syvecs

Hello I’ve earned by knuckle scares in Mk1 & Mk2 Escorts, my most beloved car I owned was a Mk2 Mexico in Signal Amber with satin black detailing loved it to bits it wasn't fast but I thought it was a rocket ship. It was still on its 1.6 ohc running a Piper285 on a jetted 38dgas And the obligatory Peco single box system. It was stolen grrrrrrrrr

My pinnacle achievement was the modded Mk2 RS2000 running a full YB setup, baby (Squires) Atlas 5 linked and turreted and mods galore. But it’s crowning glory was it looked standard apart from the 15” rims

That's a brief history hopefully someone on here could possibly help I’m now running a Syvecs ECU in a Focus Mk3.

I’ve used Norris before but some 10+ years ago in the Mk2 RS2. Anyone had experience with Norris Motorsport and their Syvecs mapping.

Your help and experience would be greatly appreciated

Come on boys someone of the 100 views and 100’s on this site must be running Syvecs. Feed back of your experience would be perfect

I know their mapping is awesome on the old YB and Webber Marelli ECU stuff, but I know nothing of their mapping on the Ecoboost and more importantly the Syvecs ECU

if they can do a good job of mapping one brand of ecu then they have the skill to do others, whether they would want to is another matter why not ask them?

Never heard of or seen mention of Syvecs ecu's on this site so probably not widely used, hence lack of replies!

    Re: Norris Motorsport & Syvecs

I was at Norris's having mine mapped 3-4 years ago & I wasnt aware they did Syvecs. I know from what he told me that hes hardly doing any Cosworth mapping anymore and hes moved onto an american ECU (but cant remember the name, sorry) but if he can map it he will do a good job. Being from Mcr with a cossie you only have 2 local(ish)choices really & I chose Norris & hes never let me down.
Best bet would be to ring Karl & Oli and have a chat, do it sooner rather than later tho as they do get booked up for weeks in advance, present circumstances excepted.

McR is the actual centre of the universe

I think the other you mention being local-ish maybe Collins PE.

I did chat to either Karl or Oli at the RSOC 2019 National Day, whichever one has the Red Mk3 Escort which is pretty well sorted. He did make a good case for them. Just personal reviews on your maps is the best praise a company can get.

I have used NORRIS on Cosworth YB maps and Collins on CVH & Cosworth.

I will give them a call once the current inconvenience is over

    Re: Norris Motorsport & Syvecs

I know Karl was working with the AEM stuff on Pauls car but no idea how much if any he's worked with Syvecs. Although it was a couple of years ago I last spoke to him

But as far as ecu's go....Syvecs is one of the best. But it is a fairly comprehensive system, and if you havent used it before, it can be a steep learning curve to get the most from it.
I've seen quite a few maps from supposedly tuned vehicles with Syvecs that have left a lot to be desired. Either that, or a lot of the features for whatever reason were just ignored.

As always....pick the tuner and they largely need to decide what ecu is best, and they can give you the best result with within your budget etc

No point having the best ecu in the world, if the tuner isnt fully conversant with it.

But I would always recommend Syvecs, IMO it is one of the best ecu's around.

https://motorsport-developments.co.u...termarket.html by chance i was browsing for omex mappers and they quote syvecs. I have known from years ago when they used remap pulsars and the like. I also think he is heavily involved on the passionford site

    Re: Norris Motorsport & Syvecs

I have the Syvecs ECU fitted and Mapped by Devil Developments but it’s over 500 miles round trip.

So I was hoping for a Syvecs capable mapper from 50 - 200 mile round trip From Manchester.

Cheers for the current replies, any users of Syvecs on this site on a Ford and who mapped yours 👍

Me...sort of Ford, and me lol

There are some dealers listed around the area. Or some of the guys are mobile...although that may change in present circumstances.

Not sure where Romain of Racecal is based, but he's part of the Syvecs team and recently got a new Mainline dyno. He certainly does travel for a lot of his work.

Or the likes of SVM ?
