fitting standard type 9 bellhousing to yb 2wd cosworth

Hi , wondering if anyone can help. i have a standard type 9 bell housing and when i try to marry up with yb it fits on no problem. But the ring gear and clutch foul {only slightly} question is ..would it be ok to grind back internal of bell housing as its quite meaty until ive plenty of clearance..its standard cossie ring gear. Starter mount has been remanufactured to suit cossie ring
    Thanks bobby

you can try, whats the worst thats going to happen? if it gets very thin or you go through it will probably crack in use.

if its n/a why not just buy the right flywheel for the job https://www.burtonpower.com/steel-fl...o-sc250rg.html

if its turbo, forget it, the torque from the yb on boost will kill the gearbox , theres a reason why ford used A T5 instead of the T9

its a n/a graham... using an uprated type 9 gearbox. The guy i bought the engine from told me this was the set up he used. Anyhoo i managed to get a hold of him {10 mins ago} he reckons it fitted no problem on this set up and reckons the castings may differ slightly as its only fouling slightly...

fair enough, but if your after performance i would still suggest you buy the right flywheel, i cant see any point in running a big heavy yb flywheel on an na engine

The above is the spec ive been givin ..and assured everthing would fit fine performance wise..I guess the castings being differt slightly is plausable...so i,ll give it a grind out and have a look
