help need ....I'm trying to set the timing on my 1.6 pinto ....when I set the engine at tdc the cam mark is off a bit....... when I I position that cam mark on the dot im no where near the tdc mark on the crank ......#yourthoughtsplease
That's how it looks when I set the crank to tdc......
That's how it looks when I set the cam pointer directly on the dot
have you tried moving the belt a tooth ?

I've tried everything ... even compensated for the slight bit of movement in the crank and set the cam a little bit out so when I release the tensioner it would some how line up. .....I reset the timing and now I'm at 8 degrees before tdc when set on the dot ....is that good enough for a safe start with a bit of dizzy fiddling?....also I have my firing order set to 1342....is that correct for a 1600 ohc pinto engine?
Any updates?
if you look at one of my older threads i had the same issue
Still haven't sorted it...I plan to just take it to a friend
