My first mk2 escort.

Hi to all i have just purchased my first mk2 after many years of anting one,it is a 1300 sport with one owner from new but it is in bit of a bad way with all the usual rust sadly with alot of dogdy mot repairs but i am in the process of building a new workshop to rebuild it in.I have the original sale's receipt and purchase order along with a few letters from the dealer confirming order and stuff.The car has been sat in a garage for the last 13 years and the guy really didn't want to sell it but he has emigrated and wanted to see it go to a good home.Anyway hears some pics for you all.

Want to keep it looking standardise with a hpe engine of some description but will keep all the original bits to put back in if nescassary.

Not sure on the gold decals myself but my colleague loves it as he used to love the jps capris back in the day.I think I will probably go for silver stripes instead and maybe black four spoke revolutions eitherway it will be along way off lol.

Not many 1300 sports still badged up as 13 sports, yours looks a nice find, well done.
I think i can remember a mates black one having white stripes on it many moons ago.

Thanks mate i think there are only about 16 1300 sports left apposed to about 45 1600's if my info is correct.I am now warming to the gold stripe with maybe some gold centred rims.
