Le Mans Classic 2012

Something i have never done and really fancy taking the sunbeam over and havinf a right good jolly up.

Any one else going or been? I have looked on google and it look like the date and info is here.

i went in 2010 and was brilliant.the 50's cars were a little slow but once the 80's are going round its fire spitting heaven.im going back in 2012 it was that good.the campsite i was in was near to the grandstand and toilets and showers were clean and nice hot water.the track is something else too.i would highly recomend it.

i went the other year, it was superb.. the campsites arnt as lively as the proper le mans. infact the field we were in was pretty much to ourselves (probably a good thing). you get up close and personal with the cars, especially in the paddock area, no safety rope, you can walk in and out of the cars as you please (although they might run you over if you get too busy trying to take a photo) i couldnt recommend it enough although take your own stash of beer as its pretty steep to buy it from the bars there.

we went from dover to calais which meant a 5 hour drive on some dull motorways, there is a better route from plymouth to LeHarve with the overnight ferry which should leave about 3 hours of nice B roads to blast. although be warned the rozzers do tend to check these now so you cant be too eager.

i really want to do it next year in the escort, but i know it just isnt going to be ready in time. i'll be aiming for the one after and make a proper holiday tour of it... the sound of the bmw m1 baging down the gears into the dunlop chicane still make the hairs stand on the back of my neck when i think about it. with a good bunch of mates its the perfect petrol head weekend

Yep, 6-8 July. Am planning to go on the Thursday in the RS - Portsmouth to Caen (overnight ferry). Never been to Classic before but French roads are good to drive (A road type and lack of traffic), camp it up in public camping (cheaper) and come back on the Sunday afternoon. Still looking into it but Maison Blanche and Bleu Nord are good campsites - close to track and other facilities... I fookin love the Le Mans cars of the 60's/70's and 80's so a deffo for me... ;-)

This sounds good, Ive been to goodwood revival last 6 years running and loved it so watching this at le mans would be epic. Christ I would love to have my escort ready

For those that keep saying about the 80's cars at the le mans classic , just for your info there cut off year for grid 6 is 1979

so there are no 80's cars
