    Resistor wire help!!!!

When wiring an electronic ignition can I run I feed directly from a 12v source via a switch and just leave the resistor wire in the loom? Or do I have to also disconnect the resistor wire from somewhere?

The electronic ignition shouldn't have anything to do with the resistance wire - that feeds the coil 9v normally & 12v on start. Ensure the coil matches the EI and wire accordingly. Separately switched is ok but with a warning light to avoid leaving it switched on and draining the battery!

Dan, what car is this on ?. On a Mk1 Escort you have to be careful otherwise the original rev counter won't work.
