    hey

    A brief intro as a newbie has been shot down in the for sale section so thought I’d better write something haha

    i started with my first mk1 1600 x flow escort when I was 16 for the grand some of £150 as I always wanted one after seeing my uncles daytona yellow Mexico sideways out of a junction lol, that was over 30 years ago now!

    Ive owned mk1 and 2 escorts, cortinas, mk1 mk2 fiesta XR2’s, series 2 RS turbos, 3 x 3dr cosworths the list goes on, I then left the ford scene for several years but now back with mk1 rs2000 and mk2 Mexico

    welcome,

    most of the regular posters on here have been using the site for 10 years or more, back then pre facebook days there would be 1000's of posts a day, and 100's of people on the site all at the same time.

    Those of us who have been around a long while will of all contributed to the site in some way, either by posting threads on projects, add in info, subscribing to the site or perhaps just interacting, so we all get a bit pee'd of when all someone want to do is use it to sell something, especially if they cant be arsed to even write a decent add!

    I use several forum and you do get the odd person come along trying to sell something or promote their ‘YouTube’ channel and not offer any other communication with people that have put many of their own hours and knowledge (or not)into a forum which farcebook seems to have taken away.

    I was a member on here back in the early 2000s but could not remember my password and don’t have that email anymore

    I look forward to seeing what goes on ��

    if you can remember your username can look up/change passwords/update emails etc

    Evening everyone,

    I’ve joined the forum as I’ve (eventually) managed to purchase a SA Imported MK1 Escort.

    I’ll apologies in advance, as I’ll be posting a million and one questions as I try to work out what bollox mods have been carried out and how (on a budget) I can get her running...

    First job was getting the head gasket, hardened valve seats, HT leads and distributor done... garage said she’s still running rough and they’re not sure about the carbs... so once I get her back I’ll be coming asking for advice (if that’s ok).

    problem could be you have given it to a everyday car repair garage they probably dont have a clue about it. ive had more than a old school motors through our workshops that other couldnt fix, but there wasnt actually anything significantly wrong, they just didnt know what they were doing
