front coilover options

I need to get Mk2 front suspension.
What are these coilovers like?
I know little about coilovers and good setups

they will do you fine, and will bolt straight on if you car is still running the original struts.

you can upgrade to capri struts, they are a little bit shorter and the tubes are thicker and the bearings in the hubs are bigger too, so overall a bit stronger, but prices are higher. the other advantage to capri struts is that there are loads of brake upgrades available if you decide to in the future. to fit capri struts you will need to buy some rs2000 track rod ends.
