Early mk1 Escort.Compresion struts or ARB Pro or Con????

    Hi all,

I building an replica racer, an early (June '68) Escort mk1.
This car has orginal the early front setup, compresion struts.
I'm thinking to convert it to the Twincam ARB as later type also does have.

Any "pro or con" for these setups.
Lets hear your experience on this.
What would you do or don't.

Car is gonna be a fast road car on 9x13's Minilite's.
Engine is gonna be an hot XFlow or Twink as i want to keep it period.

If you are building an early replica racer I think the rollbar set up would be better for handling - but remember the early cars had weld on type rollbar brackets - this is what i'm using on my early mk1 Twincam replica. Stage1 Motorsports does the correct weld on brackets.

Not cheap but will be correct and not available anywhere else. You could get some money back if you sell on the compression kit - also ask him which rollbar is correct for this set up.

'68 1100 Deluxe-bog stock soon to be a twincam rep.
