    Fly wheel,clutch starter, 1600 crossflow (mk1)

    Folks.

I have my engine 1600 with no flywheel or clutch. Looking to fit with type 9. What is the best route to go down regarding complete kit ready to bolt together without breaking the bank.Looking to use pre engaged starter also.

    Thanks Paul

    Hi,

I got hold of a xflow flywheel of a mate which had the 110 tooth inertia ring gear on. As i wanted to run a pre-engaged starter, i bought a 132 tooth ring gear from Burtons to suit it. You will need a 190mm 23 spline clutch plate with the Type 9. I got a clutch kit off ebay, but i think Retro Ford had them in for around £100.
