Got gearbox mounting bracket back from powdercoaters, as can be seen from mountain of fasteners and tap wrench was an interesting hour!!

Was given these during the week. Not sure whether to use for now or what??
Step up Trigspeed Holmes resident hose doctor. After many mugs of PG tips brakes are now all piped up. He even won the prize by spotting the only zinc steel fitting on whole car? Was soon swapped for presious S/S item!

Fitted fuel bulkheads front and back. Needed to open out M12 washers, thank God for cone cutters lol.
Whilst piping etc had an argument with carpet,... carpet lost!
Alloy fuel pipe going inside. 1st time with swager nice! Note: 1920's spring tube bender in 1st shot borrowed from the oldest plumber in the West Midlands. Pipe has now been cut in the middle and joined with inline fitting to enable installation in car (didnt fancy taking windscreen out!).
Nice work!

looks good Spike...see the lad made it into the photos
HELP: Changing rusty water pump for alloy non-viscous type. Cannot get fan into gap with spacer? Any advise/photos please?
Obtained Syntec throttle linkage, how to activate both carb levers at the same time? Do I remove the R/H lever from rear carb and swap for a reverse item then put on left side of carb so both levers are next to each other and both activated at the same time? If so any idea what the Weber part number is?
And the night started so well with box of goodies to fit, + sump guard back from polishers!!
Is there something I can buy to sort Carbs and fan issue or am I gonna have to get creative with the fettling stick?
Maybe junk the lot and fit an electric fan?
That's what I'd do, much better than an engine driven fan in every way.

mk1 rs2000 had electric fan from the factory,
re carbs you seem to have two of the same one, the rear carb should have linkage on the left
Thanks Graham and Aldon Autosport (got everything for Webers and rolling road), got correct linkage and modded carb. Fitted throttle cables (made plastic bush to knock through bulkhead), changed pedal block from steel to Syntec alloy one. The M6 threaded bar for locking inner cable snapped (V soft) made a new one from an M6 SS bolt, drilled 2mm hole for the 1.5mm cable (smaller than the syntec part for extra strength). Throttle cables in (rough) will make connector to sit on top of rocker!
Had these old cossy rads, seem to clean up OK! Fitted nicely in front of rad saving space in engine bay. Mounted rough for now will make better fixing later. Had to move horn out of way to squeeze in both rads. Will wire up seperately so can switch on 2nd fan for extra cooling, when tested on battery nearly blew me over (only 11 stone though) so dont think need both on constantly? Looked right with rad back on!
Thanks Paul (works sparks guru) for removing old plug and fitting waterproof Deutsch plug, also had to shield each cable individually for speed sensor, then wrapped in new outer cover right up to bulkhead.
Whilst at Aldon Autosport picked up Red-top fuel pump, cheaper than tinterweb price! Going to live somewhere in here? Will press up mounting bracket for it in the week.
Was one of those days today,.. extension lead fuse poped, bulb in lead light went, lathe needed re-setting and cutting tools changing (last guy left them knackered), M6 die was lost, when found needed fixing pins, etc, etc. I'm sure you've all had them V frustrating. Was lucky I got anything done in the end.
That sounds like every day for me lad

Really liking this car. What silver is it?
I swore it had a X-Flow when it was for sale?
Keep going!
Escort Mk1 Cosworth YBT build.
Is Ford 'silver fox' gizza!
Alloy fuel tank arrived last week. Has a sump on underside so dont need swirl tank! Made a mounting frame yesterday but sent to painters today before could photo, good job really hide my welding!
Making something like this saw at Autosport show..
Finally got exhaust mounted. Used Kart rad rubber mounts had spare for silencer end. Spring mounted the rest, thanks to Andy for welding brackets top job. Middle mount, bit Heath Robinson but hole was already there in floor and had the springs in tool box, exhaust pushes in so tight almost holds itself, will swap for posh bracket later!
Getting there! Many trips to various suppliers later. Note 'breather plate' planning on running splash-bowl and tank breather too?
Splash bowl bolted to body (under boot lid) via M6 riv-nuts. Joining hose Flouro lined 2" from Viper Performance to ensure fuel does not melt! Was chaper to buy large elbow section and cut out piece (including clamps)!
Finally re-fitted sump guard after getting back from polishers.
Now have added 'filter king' (next to tank) it also regulates pressure, so previous pressure reg next to carbs can be removed making fuel hose simpler.
Dizzy dropped off at Aldon for points removal, magic added (think that how it works), vaccum removed and blanked off, also re-curved to suit engine requirements. Will also supply back matched with correct coil.
Still dabbling with the sparks (my weakest knowledge by far), traced most of SPA dial inputs, had to order new oil and water sensors from SPA as old ones best guess still attached to previous engine doh! Twin fans sucking many amps and warming the cables nicely, hummm..... have to uprate this side of the doings with this little lot! Our works milling machine doesnt half get through some switches.

Ooh forget to explain what the strange tank straps are? Had some 'Unwin wheelchair tie downs' in R&D depo from old project. Means can lock into position and tension up to suit. Strong and quick to release if required. Not planning on taking out fuel tank much, however whilst building must have been in and out at least a dozen times.
Temp sensors arrived from SPA today, think the oil sensor is made from plutonium (or something more expensive than gold)! Found the 1/8 hole in head for water sensor eventually, others around all M10.
I believe this is where the oil sensor should be screwed which is 1/8 BSP, however thread in engine much larger. Tried a 1/4 BSP and wont go in.
Anyone know what it should be, do i need an adapter and where can i get one?
Thanks in advance.
you can get a tee piece from burtons that fit that and take the original sender aswelll as the oil pressure fitting.,
great work there fellow, certianly not hanging around
Cheers mate. just want to get her running, desperate to get some road time in! Her in doors thinks im doin double shift lol.
For the oil temperature sensor, you're far better off fitting it in the sump where it will give you a true reading of the oil temperature rather than in the oil gallery, which is where you're proposing to put it at the moment.

Is also the oil pressure sensor so needs to be in block really. Cant figure out the thread size though in block? Is much bigger than 1/8bsp or 1/8npt. Close to 1/4 bsp but not and M12 will screw in 2 turns? The sensor is 1/8 BSP!
