KC224 cam; why double valve springs?

We’re not talking race engine speeds, is it all to do with ramp angles.

Would HD springs suffice?

It's probably more like Kent wanting to sell you a set of double valve springs than them been needed. Newman's reccomend HD singles up to phase 3 cams for a X Flow and they are approx £48 a set.
