Just joined the site.
I've been messing about with old Fords (mainly Escorts) since before I could drive and currently own 6 Escorts, all but one of which are off the road in various states of repair.
Here are a couple of pics of my one useable Mk1.
I bought it from a breakers in 2002 for £285 and put on the road 3 years ago. I had to do the usual Escort repairs, strut tops, inner and outer sills and arches, floors, front wings and front panel. Originally a 1300XL it's now got a 2.0ltr Pinto and a 5-speed. I'm proud to say I did everything on the car myself apart from the paint which now is the only part of the car which needs doing again.
My next project will be my mk1 Van which I plan to put a 1.8 Zetec in running standard management. While not as rotten as the blue one both rear quarters have been butched by a previous owner trying to fit bubble arches so I may have to replace them or substantial bits of them anyway.
Here's the van when I got it, this is the good side!
I've also got a hearing aid beige Mk2 RS2000 and a rotten 2-door Mk2 Ghia, the last one is a Mk2 estate that I front ended a few years ago that will probably end up as a donor for the others.
I'm gonna set up a projects page when I finally get round to starting each one......
