    Flux core welding longevity?

Ive researched quite a lot about flux core vs gas welding. Im not worried about ease of use as ive used both and find both have pros and cons and are about as easy to use as each other, im just after information around longevity of the welded area.

Im mainly worried about stories ive heard about strength issues and paint bubbles from welded area as years go by. Ive done a few experiments myself, welding patches and taking to them with a hammer and flux core holds up well

Just after some experienced advice from someone who has seen welds hold up or not overtime. Ive only been welding a couple months, not reallt long enough to have a clue

Thankyou very much for your time. Cheers. JD

You're worrying for nothing. I have stuff here that was welded up over 20 years ago with flux-core wire, and no problems whatsoever.
