    Single rear leaf spring rates

    Is there different spring rates for the single leaf rear springs
    mines way too soft ( they were fitted when I got the car )

    Yes, you get 118lb or 146

    I,ve used both on the road on a mk1 mex. I did prefer the softer spring with adjustable dampers.
    Crank the damper clicks up when you know you will be going fir a spirited drive out.

    There was a debate a while ago on here and someone wanted to try a pair of 116lb rear springs as apposed to the 146lb ones he had and no one seem to stock them. Both ratings were used by Ford on the Group one Escorts of period and were sold under the RS part numbers.

    When we ran the 116lb ones on our Road Rally cars we always used the Race Rear Bilstein shockers as recommended by Ford as apposed to the Rally ones as they were more suitated to our needs. 220/110 damper rate springs to mind.

    I’m ive no idea what rating they are but is there any way of telling
    They are relatively new so don’t thing there the issue
    I think the shocks are not any branded make to they could be past there best

    The other possibility is that they are standard rate springs.
