Up date being due to work overload my mk1 has been neglected over the past year. But I have decided that this summer i am getting it finished , enough of working on other peoples cars ! It is all in primer filler work completed thank goodness it sucked! Blocking primer at the present. Put a coat of red up one side to check for inperfections in the filler work and not looking two bad. Bit more primer and blocking and we shouldn't be far from paint, Will keep the posts updated through the summer,

The red in the photos is ford radiant red. Not sure if its going to be the top coat tho , bought 5Lts of cheap 2k for using as a base coat for top coat, it was cheap at £40 as its a popular colour for painting vans. Still its not a bad red. Just go to your local paint supplier or body shop and they will have colour charts you can check out for a colour that you like.

Ahh looks nice. I'm looking for a deep red like a Ferrari red or the red on the rs turbos. There are so many to chose from I can't make my mind up!

Starting to come together . painted it this week and put running gear and engine in yesterday , At last I can see the end in sight

That's proper wide-boy mk1 :-)

I do like cars with wide arses (see avatar image for proof) :-D

Be very interested to see the final colour - mines currently a flat red, so it will be interesting to see another arched mk1 in another shade - currently deciding on either Alfa Rosso or Ford Sangria for my respray.

Have you painted the interior in black?

yes satin black inside, fitting full interior so not much going to be seen, Just checked out your project, Looking good!!
