I think you can on a mk2, but cannot on mark1, do search for it and you should find, may mean sifting through posts to find pics thou, I had to cut out slam panel on my mk1 and fit bonnet pins to secure bonnet.

    Re: Airtec installation

Problem with lntercooler and radiator being so wide is they overlap the chassis rails so getting it lower is problematic

Yes that is a Mk1 but same width

two large holes are the mounting rubber holes

Mounted as low as I could get it and on a mk1 there is no way bonnet catch is useable Ive seen some close on a Mk2

I had to cut most of the front panel out to get mine in and put a slight dent in my new inner wings with the cooler been so wide ,
I made the slam panel removable as I would t be able to get the rad or cooler out with the engine in

    Re: Airtec installation

The hole in the slam panel has 1/2 blocked by the cooler so the striker pin can’t go thru the hole ?
My cooler is tight up to the front panel and I had to fit button headed bolts in the water pump to clear the electric fans !!! It’s that tight a fit

If you need close up pics of anything just ask mate

    Re: Airtec installation

It’s the second mk2 cosworth ive built with a similar exhaust set up and they go very very well .
Expansion.Tank is from a Sierra Cosworth in alloy and mounted under Osf inner wing behind head light,
I’m running a standard heater but I’ve had to modify the heater box inside The car because I’ve used a very big tunnel this time. But I have used a standard heater boxes with a different size transmission tunnel hth

My donor car had a big wing 2wd sump so I used that with a WCXM I did trim the rear lip of the cross member to clear the sump ,
I use a sump guard tho as sump hangs lower than I’d like and I use the car for tours etc on rough country roads

    Re: Airtec installation

Brakes are spot on but need some effort like all nonservo brakes
Hydraulic Clutch was BHP kit , The tunnel is a radiused edge one but worth the extra as it looks so much more finished off think it was prefab???? Heater works great but only heat to the screen as there’s no lower vents now I cut the bottom of the heater box off

Thanks that’s a great help where did you get that tunnel from looks mint I have bought a automatic gearbox tunnel and I keep looking at it thinking it’s not right it would give lots of room for the gearbox and unless automatic escort had a different heater that should work me thinks

If you're using a T5 Borg Warner gearbox I didn't think an auto tunnel was big enough without modifying it again anyway.

Well at least I think it’s an automatic gearbox tunnel that’s what I was told when I bought it I haven’t cut the floor out yet but it looks like it will fit but it’s big

    Re: Airtec installation

I used a auto tunnel in another Cosworth powered one I built a few years back but it was quite tight in places round bellhousing . Box comes out easy with this tunnel tho . But a standard heater box wouldn’t fit due to the height of the tunnel which is The reason why I cut the heater box up And it’s worked really well

This is the only pic I’ve got that shows how big the tunnel is ! I can’t remember where I bought it to be honest “ I’ve built a lot of Mk,2 “ I usually use rallyol or prefab
