    Newbie and mgb nut!

    Hi everyone,

First time on the forum so apologies in advance for any c**k ups

I've just spent the last 8 months breathing life into an mgb gt rescued from a scrap heap. As I didn't know anything about the innards of cars it was a pretty steep learning curve, but great fun. Its a pretty standard 'rubber bumper' GT but with uprated brakes, suspension, performance exhaust manifold and K & N filters. I'm hoping to start hillclimb events so any advice would be really great. Pics to follow soon.

    All the best.

It looked quite pretty when I bought it. But is was certainly a case of beauty being only skin deep! I've replaced both sills, floor pans, suspension/shock absorbers, brakes, petrol tank, fuel and brake lines and various body panels. Replaced the rubber bumpers with sebring front and rear valances, new carpets .... well you get the picture. For the amount I've spent I could have bought a V8, but I've learnt so much and had a ball doing it. Now I just need a friendly MOT man.
