Re: chassis number on strut top

Hi. i im currently building an Austrailian import mk2 escort, but i cant find the chassis number. the inner wings appears to be original, as does the strengthening plate on top. i can feel the chassis number stamping from the underside of the inner wing strut top but can't see it on the plate.

i have the reg documents and tags and the vehicle was previously registed in Ireland. it's deffinatley an aussie import as it has the fuel tank filler in the rear panel and has all of the other strengthening in the doors etc.
any body have any ideas? does anyone know were i could get the number restamped?

    cheers guys
