thanks doug, could never for the life of me understand why people ruined them with god awful bodykits suppose it was that max power era (an era i hated).

ill be honest and say i wasnt to sure if i would be too welcome on this forum as it seems rather largely ford based, but am glad the car has seemed get a decent reaction, it does get alot of respect when out on the road or when at petrol stations etc had so many conversations with random people

Re: my 1991 Renault 5 GT Turbo

I had a stock black one, lowered on 15" wheels with 195/45 yokos. So much fun to drive. I thought it was so cool as it was the first car I had with remote central locking. Remote central locking and a mobile that was the size of a brick...

Would deffo be a clean tungsten grey one in my collection if I had that big lottery win.

you would be surprised at how cheap you can pick these up for, although a good clean oe one will fetch over 4.5k.
haha loved the comment about central locking and mobile phone size how things have moved on eh

Re: my 1991 Renault 5 GT Turbo

hi guys realised i hadnt listed the spec of the car so for anyone interested here goes

fully rebuilt bottom end 2k ago (only needed rings but i decided do the whole lot)
    t28/t2.63 turbo (cosworth t3 comp housing/pulsar t28 comp wheel/pulsar t28 shaft and turbine machined into t2.63 housing)
    23psi boost
cat cams 285 cam, piper vernier, piper uprated springs
    tubular exhaust manifold
longlife 2.5" bore turbo back system with 3.25" tailpipe
big jim racing 2.5" turbo elbow/downpipe
    fully rejetted carb (standard main,standard 1st stage,1.3 2nd stage,0.9 a/c, 2mm needle valve, standard venturi)
fully ported head with valve guides reduced and multi angle seats
    ported inlet manifold
ram air induction kit located behind front grill
    cosworth 2wd fmic
    spax suspension
    uniroyal rainsport 2 tyres
    clio turbine alloys 15"
    285mm big brake conversion
    front and rear strut braces
    cobra bucket seats
centre console mounted boost, oil pressure, oil temp and also aem wideband gauge.
oil and coolant is dropped every 1-2k and changed

car is certainly producing more than the last 230bhp output in october and will find out for sure in april/may

also upcoming plan is to get megajolt fitted and mapped up as the standard aei unit is pants on anything above standard boost especially between 2-4k, i know of a guy who has done this conversion and seen huge gains of torque in them ranges (75 lb/ft max)

looks fantastic, love the colour, wheels and stance, always wanted an r5 turbo, just one of those cars a man needs or atleast needs to drive one at some point.

Re: my 1991 Renault 5 GT Turbo

many thanks for the kind words mate they are very addictive i never understood what people meant by the 5 bug ( i do now) haha

big updates to tell you about.

first of all my car is now officially sorn, as its now going to be getting a full restoration which is something iv wanted to do since having the car, bit gutted ill miss the shows etc this year but its certainly going to be worth it.
Iv already began to strip the car down, and have quite a few parts already these are as follows

brand new n/s o/s inner sills
brand new n/s o/s outter sills
    rear bumper repair panels
    new fuel pump bracket
    new fuel filter bracket
    full polybush set
    good second hand bonnet

the above is just scratching the surface of what ill be getting for the car and ill keep this thread updated with what i get etc.

iv also decided that the car will be changing color to mg trophy blue as its a color i really like and will suit the r5gtt well, iv also been considering ford imperial blue

the front seats will be sold and hopefully replaced with a set of rs turbo recaros

I love it, same colour as my old one. Had Clio 16v wheels on mine. Did the usual home mods of drilling the carb, strapped cooler etc, it was rapid.
