Ben you never seem content with anything ha ha!!

I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?cuuqpw
i would just try it and if you dont like the gearing change it
edited to say just checked the ratios and as standard if the info is correct below
its not to different to a type 9 but with a nicer first gear 5th is similar to 4th
with the smaller tyres over the std s2000 your overall gearing wont be much different with a 3.75
Gear Type 6 Speed Manual
Final Drive 4.1:1
1st Gear Ratio 3.13:1
2nd Gear Ratio 2.05:1
3rd Gear Ratio 1.48:1
4th Gear Ratio 1.16:1
5th Gear Ratio 0.97:1
6th Gear Ratio 0.81:1

spoke to the propshaft place this mornin, they say a 3" prop with a sliding joint will be okay, as i am limited with my rear suspension travel on the rear, as for the ratios, id roughly worked out itll drive like the s2000 gearing, as im running tiny tyres, and the s2 runs a 4.1 diff...
as for being content, i wanted more revs, and more power.... so jap motor was the only way forward.... and i fancied sorting the car once and for all.... theres talk of a turbo next year and 400horses...
Lol Ben nice one bud.
You turboing the s2000 engine? Poor wee estate won't know what's hit it!!
Bit like the guy he met at the weekend
Hope your hand heels soon mate
144mph top whack at 8900rpm

Not a bad combination tbh, seems like similar gearing to my old Xe nova which went like a missile with just 200hp, let alone what yours would be like with another 40hp and driving the right wheels !!
I believe the FD in the Vauxhall box is a 3.72 as well, its just the tyre size that has such an effect on yours
Who gave you the info on the sliding prop ? I would take care using a 1 piece as probably everyone I know of that has done a conversion either used a 2 piece from day one or has ended up on one.
I have a modded single piece prop still off a car I had if your interested.

What I wana know is........

Details of an indident and loads of pics on facebook, he's always at his workshop so shares from his phone there rather then here, engine and box looked like it was in and he was on altering the floor & tunnel.

hahaha.. just caught up on this, yea, i havent got internet at home, so its as and when i can jump on really.. thanks lads, hoping to get gazzamk2 to throw me some pics up soon, the engine and box are in, mounted, and the cooling systems been sorted, theres an ally tank on the go, and the ex mani's been re worked, basically need to mod the front lower xmember to fit the rad, do a tiny bit of fab, and find somewhere to hide the fluid reserviors, then paint inside and underneath, and under bonnet and re-fit... started working at racetech in sheffield, who are absaloutley mad on turbo'd hondas, and have a top reputation, so the turbos only a matter of time really....must admit, it is hard to build it n/a while spannering away 30feet away from 400 horse civics on the rollers all day...
Would just like to say - this is gonna blow people away.
I dont think anyone has ever put as much time/thought/effort into a mk1 estate as ben has, and if they have it just won't look as bad ass!
I will get down there and take some pics soon and get em posted. I just cant wait for this thing to be built, it will be a proper awesome package.....
Nice one Ben fooking love it but I really wana see the pics where not all on Facebook.
Best you get signed up then trig ..............
Mmmm
I think I'll go and sign up , cos I like the pics And this sounds good
Bill
Is the engine dry sumped ?
no it still wet sump think he had a bit a hassle with cross member but not that much and it is in
Would love to see pics of his sump and where he had to cut it, or mod the cross member.
Also looks like the engine isn't quiet at the correct angle? (not that it matters too much, just means the weight may be slightly to one side and the gearstick may not poke up straight). Upright is pretty much having the oil plug in line with the heater shroud hole.
Yea wouldnt mind seeing round x-member, gets sum pics up if poss ?
Anyone got a link to his facebook page?

I been trying to find this too via pm's.. but with no luck.
Really want to find out how this is done.
Dunno if this will work .................. http://www.facebook.com/#!/ben.szanto
i've just looked at his face book photos and i cant see any of the sump or cross member
its not dead till it's buried!
T.I.T engineering. "Feel the power!"
ill get some pics up soon, its a case of hold the engine where you want it, and cut the sump till you can get the x member up tight.. the x member is stock, alltho lowered 20mm... the pic showing the engine in, isnt mounted, its moved forward about 3'' from where it is in the pic, and sat at correct angle, or very close....ive just installed tapatalk on my fone so will update asap, the sumps the next for welding, so it shouldnt be long....
