    Capri struts on MK1 Escort

Hi, I have some MK3 Capri struts(not bilstein) that I want to put on my MK1 so I can run disc brakes.
They have the removable steering arms.
What track rod ends do I need to order. Tried to do a search and have got mixed results.
Also what wheel bolts did the Capri use. My MK1 escorts ones don’t fit.

I can't remember which taper a Mk3 Capri has on the steering arms but when I first built a Mk1 Escort in the late 70's the std Mk1 Escort TRE's fitted Capri steering arms. If you are using a Mk2 Escort steering rack with the course thread then you'll need the RS Green type track rod ends, although aftermarket ones now aren't Green.

Why won't your wheel nuts fit? The MK1 Escort should have imperial nuts and possibly the Capri has metric ones, the wheel PCD should be the same.

I’ll be using the MK1 steering rack.
The MK1 currently has drum front brakes.

Do the Capri struts depend on which model capri they came off too?
If 2.8 then are they not the same as Mk2 Rs2000, thus grn track rod ends would fit? Not sure, either way though.
When I 1st put my Mk1 together in the late 80's I put Mk1 3.0ltr Capri front struts and brakes on it.

Do your MK1 track rod ends taper match the ones on the Capri steering arms? if they are a floppy fit then the chances are they could be metric arms on the Capri.

i think all the removable steering arms are imperial taper so the std mk1 tr ends will fit.

that would be correct on a mk2 as rack is metric. mk1 both rack and taper is imperial so std tre will fit (as long as its not had a mk2 rack fitted.)

Op says it's a Mk1 rack fitted to his car so there should be no reason why the rod ends won't fit the Capri steering arms.
