    Pinto radiator cap

    Hi whats best cap for pinto with 55mm alloy rad no expansion tank? 13psi? Cheers

    id go higher. the pressure in the system is dictated by temp, so by going higher, IF it does overheat theres less risk of it boiling and chucking coolant out. you could go way higher, the only drawback with that would be if its got really hot, it might blow off a hose or something before the cap released pressure, but the last thing you want is to release pressure on an already hot engine

    Cheers graham.iv just fitted electric fan what temp would you set it to come on at im assuming thermostat is 88 degree.cheerso

    id go with 92, to stop it shunting in and out too much,

    but id rather see an 82 degree stat and set the fan to come in at 88-90
