Bypass the matrix temporarily, all you need is a piece of 15mm copper tube with an olive soldered on each end!

And other junk I don't like to talk about!
Love a mk1 in this colour ! Very nice !
True that is an option & a easy fix as I am a plumber but driving on the M40 in the rain with a steamed up windscreen aint my idea of fun. ( have you seen the forcast for sunday ) tawny.
ALLWAYS EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
your heater fan will still work and it will clear the screen fine even with no heat from the matrix, just set it on high and have the window down a touch. ive got the heater in mine but not plumbed in and the blower cleared the window fine, especially when out arsing about in the snow!
loks the tits son
Like this car very lots mate
They suit it but the original seats siuted it better imo mate.what you doing with the old seats? The recaros are mint tho
yes the old seats did look the part but the recaros do the job better for me I am keeping the originals for when I retire & restore it back to a standard mexico ( that means buying all the original stuff back off fridgeman lol ).

1972 MK1 Escort 2.0...1969 Mk1 Twincam Escort...1964 Anglia Van...1982 Starlet YB turbo
I actually spotted this poking out of your garage a fair few months ago when it was a shell, saw it goin down the 38 a few weeks ago and it looked mint, didnt think it'd be the same car though, looks really nice,i dont normally like bubble arched mk1s but think cus this looks "period" it works,i do like a bit of cosworth power to and plan on goin down that road with mine (probably when i retire,im 31 at the mo,ha) still actually need to get the thing welded up 1st.
Saw this at avo day and thought that deserve's a picture, stunning!
not a big fan of bubble arches but i love the colour ......never seen a broon yin before
This one.
careful with that exhaust tawny!
What size was the first exhaust and the one on it now?? Lovely motor I like the colour but my misses isn't too found of it
When I grow up I will have a MK1 Escort
I must be all growed up now then and paying for it!
luvley car you have there mate, how long has your dad been driving it ?
EVERY DAY,S A LEARNING DAY
Its allways had a 3" stainless system but it had a 4" tail pipe which was on the donor sierra. The system is a mongoose but only using the rear box the 4" tail pipe looked a bit too blingy so it was reduced to 3".
The system was an easy job to do, just cut into sections & welded back in the right order with the crossover behind the gearbox to ease box removal without taking off the exhaust. tawny
ALLWAYS EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
Cheers Tawny I was looking at getting a 2.5 possibly 2.75" system (c20let engine) with a 3.5" tailpipe when mine is done but think the 3" tail looks about right
When I grow up I will have a MK1 Escort
I must be all growed up now then and paying for it!
I tried to upload some photos of the exhaust for you but it now seems that you have to resize all your photos now to get them to upload even ones that I have put on before now are too big. Not really into computers so its all a bit of a flaff to do for me so no more pics from me. tawny.
ALLWAYS EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
Cheers mate do you use the uploader tab button next to the sponsors at the top of the page or the icon in the message area as I had trouble with the icon when uploading but it was ok when I used the uploader tab?? Pics would be great if you manage to sort it lol

Sorry chap I just tried that method & it says files too large , I know of others on this site who have the same problem so it appears to be the site which has changed & not my photo size. tawny.
ALLWAYS EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
Any idea of the dimesions of the wheels tawny, offset etc... they look just right
i cant decide on 13's or 15's when mines done, sometimes i think 15's on an arched mk1 but then i see a nice set of 13's and im back to 'undecided'
8x13 on the front ET-5
9x13 onthe rear ET-17
These sizes were reccomended by minilight as the tried & tested sizes for an arched mk1 with a baby atlas.
Hope this helps tawny
ALLWAYS EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
I must admit 15s look good , look at fridgemans mex ( pigs old car) 15" comp mls look good but I have heard that if you go to 15s you experience poor handling over the 13s.
Any opinions on this matter please. tawny.
ALLWAYS EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
one way to find out matey is to borrow my spare set for a bit, i think you will find it better not worse
