didn't really do anything this weekend after too much drinking but tonight the centre console went back in.
Dad is a legend and fitted the new wheel studs all round so I'm not worried about loosing a wheel now and she's ready for the MOT I think.
i'm just using a black sheet as the carpet until I drive up to blackpool to get one fitted properly
that looks so much nicer inside, i love that

T.I.T engineering. "Feel the power!"
Been too busy driving recently to do too much work, but everything is coming together slowly.
Passed MOT which was an event in itself, main fuse blew while on the ramp so had to be pushed off, and in the car park overheated because the fans weren't coming on. Both problems fixed now, faulty otter switch wasn't turning the fans on. The alternator was also knackered so I had a reconditioned one for £40. Speedo isn't working either but i'll be adjusting the sensor tomorrow so that should be fixed.
I trimmed the door panels in some suede type material from Dunhelm Mill, was only about £15 for the suede and wadding to give it a cushioned feel, first trimming i've done and it's actually turned out quite nice, I prefer it to the old carpet.
I'm doing some trial/error on the suspension as it wasn't set up right, it's a bit soft so i'll give it a few more clicks tomorrow see how that is. The rear needs lifting slightly as well, it should be about 2cm higher than the front, i'll have another play tomorrow
Looks great now :-)

good looking car mate, is it quick?
Old Fords Never Die, They Just Get More Filler!!!
Thanks guys, getting there slowly.
It's pretty quick yeah, but you get used to it and it's not too unmanagable. It's a 4,6 cross bolted bottom end with work on heads, fast road cam. Over winter I will remove the cat and get megasuirt fitted to get the most out of it and hopefully make it a lot smoother
i like the sound of a TVR going up the road
sideways is the best way to turn a corner
You have done some good work on this, well done
little update.
Finally got the carpets fitted and a new roof with a smaller rear windows, rectangular instead of the large curve which always creases.
The carpet makes it a lot nicer to drive with less transmission noise and also a more constant temperature. It's nice to finally be waterproof as well. It was a long drive up to Blackpool, first one i've done and glad to report no problems at all, I was very impressed. Although the suspension needs setting up as it just doesn't feel right.
Anyway I know threads are useless without pics so a couple, plus a video of some tunnel blasting in Stoke, obviously only up to the 50mph speed limit

Car looks superb, good to see someone sorting things themselves.
Also very good to see someone who is not worried about keeping to the original spec.
Who in Blackpool done the roof and mats? there are some good guys up there.
You are fairly local to me I will look out for it on the road.
1st class job, I have enjoyed reading about what you have done
A great read this thread, superb end result too. Well done!

Top work! That interior looks lurrrrvely now!
What’s the latest on the TVR , the work you have done looks superb. I have a Griffith and would be interested in your thoughts on the MX5 seats you fitted , do they fit straight in and how do they compare to the originals,
Cheers

Hi Brett,
Amazing job, a very well done.
Found this thread whilst researching ideas for a 430 Chimaera I am considering. That car is also silver and needs similar work, including changing the blue interior.
My question is, how has the furniture clinic product held up, I live near Ashby de la Zouch and have reason to be in Eastwood on occasion.
Cheers
John
Hi,
just been reading this thread, excellent stuff, im doing a similar thing with my 96 Chimaera, but not as detailed as yours. Can i ask you, where did you get the flip fob from ? I've been trying to find one but i'm not having any luck,
Regards
Pinx
This car looks great! Does anyone have autocad drawings of the upper and lower dashes? I am looking to customise mine similar to the car in this thread.
Nice build, brought back lots of memories, I use to re-build these daily back in Brum, Optima Motors. You really need to be a hands on guy to own a TVR but great fun, I can't believe there actually still running and about, I'd of thought most would be quietly sitting in garages waiting restoration
Bumping this to the top as I now own this car and would love to chat to the OP
