    xe value?

Thinking of a different route for my escort but dont want to be stuck without something to buy straight away what sort of value should i put on my xe set up? Rebuilt c20 xe with new bearings etc, kent 1612 cams with vernier pulleys, weber alpha t/bs with the weber managment also, yukspeed sump, ashley manifold, type 9 box with the xe bellhousing also small bits like standard oil cooler, new starter motor, oil and water pumps brand new also.Thinking of going the cossie route but know they can go for a few quid!

I paid £1200 for a complete xe package on 45s it had everything with it. So I guess that's a minimum price but yours is a far higher spec than what I purchased. £2000 maybe?

    Re: xe value?

difficult really as the xe isnt quite so popular now as the engines are all getting old, and people are going duratec route but that sounds like a good spec. i guess the cost added up that you paid less a bit, say 10-20%would be about right. you may do best selling seperate tho. type 9- £120, bellhousing=£130 etc etc and it will add up.
if the engine will still fit a front driver, i.e the Vauxhall boys could still use it then that adds value too , weber alpha will fit anything so anyone could be interested. if you break it it may be worth more than complete.

    oh decisions decisions
rust , rust and more rust,.....wait, wheres the rust gone now ?

    Re: xe value?

Stick with the XE set up you've got.
Duratec is indeed more modern but much more expensive to modify.
My XE uses Fully Ported head, 1612's, 48's, and an SBD exhaust manifold.
    235hp, easily (dyno proven).
    Loves revs
    loves it.
Watch this for an idea of how it goes..
