Type E gearbox issue

hi all needing some help with a type e box I have.

When I tighten up nose cover on the box it jams and won't turn in the gear. I have the small and large circlip fitted but still seems to jam up.

Any ideas?

Nose cover for a 4 cylinder engine on a 6 cylinder input shaft/gearbox?

Turns out the syncro was away.

When you say AWAY, do you mean it was misaligned or something like that?
