    rear end suggestions

Evening all! I'm about to start converting a Ford Puma to rwd just for shits and giggles really, possibly do a track day or two.
I'm open to suggestions as to what to do about the back end, either some kind of irs back end or a live axle set up? Anyone have any thoughs on pros/cons of either in such a short wheelbase car?
It'll be running a Zetec Blacktop with a garret T28 bolted to the side of it.

    Thanks for any input

I’ll have a look cheers, I’ve build a rwd focus before (albeit I did t do the fab work) with a Sierra backend, only issue we had with that was camber on launches, much like a Sierra really!
I might go that easy again or possibly a live axle with a 4 link set up?

    Sounds similar to my plans,
    Blacktop Zetec turbo
    RX8 5 speed
    sierra front crossmember
mkst likely Sierra back end for the relative ease of it!

    rear end suggestions

I’ve done a ton of research and reading up over the last week or so, it looks like 1.8 Mazda MX5 will be the route I’m taking.
Track width is not far off the same as the Puma and the hubs can easily be redrilled to 4 x 108.
Just need to start sourcing a sump/stat housing/sump/gearbox adaptor and find a donor car!

Have a look on youtube for "urchfab" he used to post on here, He has just built a ford 100e with complete mazda mx5 chassis under the 100e body. May be useful even if not its a good watch. With plenty of build tips etc

    Re: rear end suggestions

I keep getting offered RX8 complete cars for silly money. Anyone have any experience using their rear ends for other cars?

Width, power, ratios will all be choices to consider. ( and actual LSD style desired )

But there are a plethora of rwd type setups you could use these days. I'm sure the Mazda would be very good. Or Subarus bound to be dime a dozen too.

    Re: rear end suggestions

Track width is my main consideration, everything seems a bit too wide apart from the MX. I'll have a look into the Scoob stuff though
