How much tunnel to cut for t9

    hi all.
Well today i dropped the pinto and T9 into my mk1. But as I thought, the box is hitting the tunel. Does any one have any idea, before I butcher it with a grinder, where to cut and how much to cut ?

Aggree with Graham, i take it you are using the cast bellhousing. Then it hits in front just behind the firewall, you can just use a rubber mallet and "tune "it a little. If engine and box does'nt sit too high.

it may need the rear xmember cutting out - go back as far as rear of oval hole and about 75mm wide

I have an RS bellhousing. I think tomorrow i will get the car up on axle stands and have a look at whats going on. I have just remembered that 2 years ago I bought a bracket that loweres the box so it doesn't hit anything. Maybe I have just jacked the box up to far. I will have a look tomorrow and report back. Thanks guys.

Before you put it in, i highly recommend fitting the quick release bell housing kit.
its an absolute ball ache to get a type-9 in and out if your lying on the ground in a standard tunnel should you need to do a clutch or something
