Pinto starter motor
hi again guys. I dare say I will be on the forum a few more times. Please bare with me as I am building my LHD mk1 by myself.
So whats today's issue. Ok I have a 2.0 pinto with an allow bellhousing. The starter i have is way to big and hitting the crossmember. I need suggestions for a small high torque one.
Thanks guys

Re: Pinto starter motor
Burton sells a smaller high torque starter. They fit left and right. In some situations you do have to turn the base plate from the starter, drill 2 new holes to get it as close as possible against the engine.
It's a very short starter, just enough room. Best is to fit it on exhaust side.

Re: Pinto starter motor
Look for a reduction-gear starter motor from Bosch/Motorcraft/Ford as fitted to a Sierra/Scorpio 2.0i .
These are way more powerfull, use less amps, and are smaller than a std starter motor.
