Help needed!

Hi guys, ive got a mk1 escort that ive removed most of the front panels from. 95% back together now but when ive got everything lined up perfectly i close the bonnet and the gap between the front panel and top of the radiator mount is nowhere near (good gap of an inch or so) ive seen this brought up a few times on this forum but the post either goes cold or the problem is never addressed. Has anybody else had this problem and how do i fix it? like i say everything else lines up perfectly and i dont want to lift the front panel and that would throw everything else out of whack. any help would be appreciated!

TBH, i dont think its something your ever going to get an answer to on a forum, we cant see what needs doing, or tell you how to do what properly experienced body repair guys do

As Graham says difficult to advise. Taking large portions of panel work off, all at the same time, without building a jig prior to removal, replacement panels, especially pattern parts are unlikely to line up / be correctly positioned in space. I've seen some amazing renovation work from producing jigs to locate strut tops, inner wings etc.
