good luck i spent ages looking for one then adapted a standard one
I have an alloy Big Wing sump for a Twin Cam engine and have the same problem. We took it to a Reputable engine builder to be fitted to a 1700 BDA engine that he was overhauling for us and he wouldn't use it because we hadn't got the correct pickup pipe and he didn't want to trust a modified one as the engine was been fitted with a brand new crank and rods. In the end the only option for us was to buy a new dry sump system for which I believe is what he wanted to fit all along.
40 odd years ago my late Father was trusted to the job of oil pickup pipe modifying as he was an old School gas welder, we never had any problems with them cracking.
Did a Mk1 Mexico have Big Wing sump as standard? I have a Haynes manual somewhere for said vehicle but it seems to have gone walkabouts.
Please send me a picture of what you are after and i might have one .
Hi Raffik
Can you contact me on email? I am not allowed to PM you as I don't have enough posts under my belt. bdros@aol.com
Raffik, can you contact me via mail please, bdros@aol.com
All Mk1 Mexico's (and RS1600 and T/C's) had them but with an off centre pickup pipe. Graham you are probably remembering the big big wing sumps which were an RS item. They had even larger wings added and a central pickup and better baffling. Allegedly they were made to solve failures on the Mexico Challenge race cars.
