Seeing all the conversions done with itbs has me wondering, when you for aftermarket ecu, lets say omex for example can the vtec still be used. i know vtec is worked off oil pressure but doesnt the timing get advanced/retarded when it hits vtec?

Most ecu's will have a vtec ( vvti ) function, I'm quite sure Omex does, the benefit of the setup is you can control when it comes on rather than the usual hard hit you get from it.
but dont the honda boys usually use hondata? i know thats when they're usually keeping the single inlet plenum but not much is gained strangely enough going from a single tb to individual tb's on the honda vtecs.
its not dead till it's buried!

It is oil pressure and a 12v output signal from the ECU which brings in the Vtec.
Omex 600 can definately operate vtec or vvt. Its runs vvt on my 20v 4age via a relay.

who buys ITB's for power.. surely its just for sound!!

Omex can control the F20 motor easily as its only a switched output to engage vtec solenoid, the K20 motor has 20 vtec maps that it passes through that the likes of Omex wouldn't support, I would use a plug and play solution like Kpro that uses the oe wiring and std ecu with daughter board, the fitting of the itbs would just be a straight forward to map then!
Hmm. This is in the S2000 section. The S2000 doesn't change cam timing, it changes cams.
(There are 2 profiles in there when you look under the top). I'm currently wondering why I need the small cams given the oil pressure issues that come with the hydraulic switching (but that's another story).
I know nothing about Civic VTECs, but am under the impression that they are more sophisticated, and cam timing driven. I have spoken to clever B*ggers who talk about mapping out the civic dead spot. They were telling me that they got massive mid range drivability out of it (with a Honda specific strap on / emulator). I can confirm that I only ever saw the back of that civic (disapearing away from me in competition).
