    Type 9 gearbox won’t select

I have a type 9 gearbox that won’t select any gear?
Although never fitted, I’ve had it a number of years and I’m sure it was find when I put into storage.
Today I pulled it appears to be locked on neutral? The shifter driven shaft is feee but won’t move far either rotationally or longitudinally? The drive shaft rotates freely and feels OK, the internals look OK too, it’s full of oil and has no corrosion. The gear selector just won’t throw the shaft, anyone seen this problem before?
    Cheers
    Mike

Try removing the allen head screw at the front of the gearbox - that is the gear position detent (together with a spring and plunger) for the selector shaft. Perhaps it's stuck/corroded in position.

    Thanks, I’ll try that tomorrow.
