    RWD R&D mt75 6 speed overdrive dogbox

Testing the water for this, not sure if I'm going to us it on my build - if it sells it goes if it doesn't ill use it. Its a bit over-kill for what I want albeit very cool.

    2wd R&D 6 speed dogbox for sale

It is the overdrive gearbox, straight cut gears with ratios as follows:

    1st - 2.68
    2nd - 1.89
    3rd - 1.43
    4th - 1.17
    5th - 1
    6th - 0.87

It uses a separate bellhousing which is a type 9 pattern, I also have a prop which came with the gearbox for a mk2 escort

Has the rose jointed gear shifter with it

    I'm after £3,000 ono

Gearbox is located in Romford Essex, RM12

    Thanks!

Not sure is straight cut suitable for street use but, how much this kind of gearbox is rated for? (torque?)
Will this box to same space as MT-75 V6? (high possibility that is is bigger?)

No reason not to use it on the street, they are noisy, depends on what your building!
As title it’s R&D MT75 So same size and will fit

    Hello,

I was going to run it on the street, but it’s personal preference

the gearbox is rated to 500nm as can be seen in the advertisement document. Saying this people have used them at much higher power outputs with success, I suppose it’s like anything and how you treat it.

as for fitting, as the person above mentioned it’s quite a slim gearbox, based off a mt75 but with a bespoke cast casing. If you have a V6 pinto the bellhousing and clutch should be a straight swap to this gearbox - output shaft will need to be modified but I have a mk2 escort prop included with the sale that should make it easier. If your car already has a mt75 then the prop is a straight swap.

i will get some photos for you now and upload them tonight

Sorry this won't work.... 648nm torque. Not willing to try, if that is good or not, I thought it would be rated for more.
My MT-75 doesn't have changeable bellhousing and V6 bellhousing are quite rare, and those straight gear wont be nice in street...

(so gearbox length is same in normal MT75 since you said that propshaft would work)

Have you got any idea of the age of the gearbox and how much use it has had? There should also be a number stamped somewhere near the spacer plate to identify it via R&D. Ideally the maincase needs splitting so for a prospective customer can check the condition of the gears and dogs.

I ran this type of gearbox around 15 or more years ago in an Escort Cosworth Rally Car, parts were still readily available then, today I have no idea. It turned out the gearbox I had was one of their early development ones and had taken a lot of abuse by the time it came into my hands.

    Hello,

I will hold my hands up and say I don't know exactly the ins and outs of the history, I bought it sight unseen this summer, I was told by the previous owner it had been serviced by John Roberts Transmission Services and not used since... I will email them and see if they have a history of working on the gearbox.

Here are some photos of the gearbox, it displays the ID number as you mentioned.
