MK1 Escort .. fitting 2.0 pinto engine in .. problem with alternator space
Hi , got standard escort MK1 ,didnt realize the mk1 was bit narrower , lockdown project to relieve boredom .fitting pinto engine into it come across a problem , used rs2000 brake tower servo , got to the point of fitting the alternator against the tower and space is very small and a problem , compared to a mk2 engine bay fitted with pinto using exactly the same tower ,alternator mount etc , the mk2 bay is wider and has fair bit more space by alternator ,
SO.. is the mk1 rs2000 alternator mount the way to go ? seen a pic of one it seems to lower the alternator downwards does it ? dont really want to loose the tower as its all been piped up now with new pipes , but will do if needs be ....
Anybody able to advise , looking like lose the brake tower ? or sell me the alternator mount etc / parts / part numbers etc etc ,be appreciated even for a different brake master cylinder set up ... Any advise be gratefully received .. Thanks Dave.
