    difference between Mk1 mexico and standard 1100 fenders

    Hi
    I am restoring/ restomodding a mk1 escort from 1973. It needs new fenders. There are two types advertised the standard fenders and the mexico fenders. Could someone enlighten me as to the difference between the two.

    the car is as I got it...under restoration now with the sills done

    Mexico wings have a slightly larger lip as can be seen on the factory performance cars. Mexico rs2000 twin cam rs1600 etc a few others as well

    Practically, the difference depends on your choice of wheel size. Std Escort, 12" wheels, std Wing (fender) or Performance Escort, Mexico wing, 13" wheels (but maximum width 6") or if you want 15" and wider wheels you would need the so called Big Wing panels (both front and rear) which look like those fitted to all the Works Rally Cars.

    wheels are 15x8 minilites. Tyres 195/55
