1.6L pinto
Just a quick question, does the 1.6L pinto (from a ford taunus, if it's any help code look like 21030, 16, 70HM8015AA) share the same basement as the 2.0?
at least same crank with shorter rods?
Could it be a base for a 2.0 race engine? (i know the head isn't really suitable, but i'm more interested in the basement).
Thanks.

different block, crank and rods.
thats not to say you cant turn it into a 2.0, the 2.0 crank will fit, a good block will bore out to 90.8 (std 2.0) but you will need to find a piston/rod combination which will fit into the shorter 1.6 block height

Re: 1.6L pinto
thanks to both, got a "nice" occasion for a 1.6L, but look like i'll wait the right 2.0L, if it ever appear, because here in italy we have crazy prices for 2.0 pintos, they're trying to sell them for more than 1500 euros, I mean, std pinto, often not even in good shape.
One day I'll do a nice tour in UK with a van and came back with a few bits that you UK guys sell for nothing compared to here
