No its not original - if you want that, fork out £45-50k cheaper yes! but still a 40+ yr old car! And if you factor ou MST's profit @ 20% (not unreasonable) and the VAT content - the baseline cost is about £40k !

by time you factor in road tax and other stuff your on over 100k, for What is actually not a ford escort mk2 .
my money would be on a Audi rs6 , more power / quicker and more comfort ,

How many RS6's get converted to rally cars though? Plus its very carefully described as an MST Escort because its a replica / copy.

Re: Brand new MK2 2door anyone?
Way out of my price range and more of a mk1 person, but i think its brilliant that these have actually been produced, and its pointless saying what else you could get for the money, anything else wouldnt be a brand new to all intents and purposes a mk2 escort

Re: Brand new MK2 2door anyone?
These things are awesome and I'm very glad they exist. I looked into doing exactly the same thing myself a few years ago when they first started selling the shells but I bought a genuine group 4 shell (with it's own original v5) for less than the price of a new group 4 shell. Even with the prices of genuine cars climbing I'm still not convinced by the economic case.
