    MK2 Cortina Diff Width

Im getting into my mk2 cortina project at the moment and im about to get a custom diff built. the standard diff is 1355mm wide and the std wheel track is 1295mm. i want to run 15x7 0et wheels, i dont have them yet. at the moment i am thinking 1320mm for the width. what have others done? width, wheels, offset etc.
for enginnering in australia the max wheel track i can go is 1295mm+25mm
heres a couple of pictures of my project so far
    cheers,
    stewart

    Re: MK2 Cortina Diff Width

If looking for references on the web regarding width in UK we usually refer to the diff as the actual centre piece with the pig's head on its own - ie the cast iron case, the gears and the drive flange.
Axle is the tubed unit, and the axle width / axle length usually refers to measurement between the faces on the axle inside of where the drum brakes mount to.
Hopefully that might help you with searches if you don't get much luck on here.

Sorry I can't be of help with axle width figures even though I should know as I owned a mk2 cortina for a while!

    Hey Stew,

Id just wait till you have the wheels, put them under then measure the width you need and have the diff made to suit. That way you cant go wrong

I'm interested in what intercooler/rad setup you'll be using.

What diff are you having modified to suit? Ford/holden BorgWarner, Hilux or other?

    Shaun
