In which models was the Duratec 2.5 installed?

Hi,


As I would like to go for a Duratec conversion, I am trying to find out in which models Ford offered the 4 cilinder 2.5 Duratec engine.
So far google only gave me info on US models.
Looking up the obvious Mondeo, these came with the V6 2.5 Duratec. So in which models did they offer the 4 cilinder 2.5 Duratec, or was this offered only in vans?

I had the same results searching this. As far as I know, the 2.5 Duratec was never put in any UK vehicles. I was told it’s from a US Ford Range pickup.

Funny that. In a different thread Eric suggested going for a (relatively cheap) 2.5 Duratec, see what it's like and in case I get bored, I can simply upgrade it to a better spec. Really good advice, which is why I'd like to find a 2.5. Now I only need to find out in which models Ford fitted them. Was it used in vans? John

Too true. People simply don't buy petrol vans these days.

I should know I had 3 brand new Escort vans out of Dagenham motors in Hayes
from the late 80's through the 90's, every 1 a Diesel.

Apparently, 2.5's were available in the Transit Connects, but finding one is a different story altogether.

I've seen a almost new (100 km) Duratec 2.5 engine for sale for 3000 Euro (+surcharge) but it is over here.

Duratec is an expensive swap whatever you decide to do, are you particularly after the torque of the 2.5? You can get a 2.0 from a Fiesta st for a few hundred quid and they rev and rev.

Yes that's the one. I guess if you don't or won't supply an engine you just pay the 500 euro surcharge.
