Unusual type e box. Can anyone help identify it?

I have a mk2 van that has been imported from Australia. The gearbox had been changed at some point to a type e 4 speed. The tuneel had been enlarged for the bell housing to fit,but the gearstick hole is original. The gearbox tail shaft is different with the gearstick sitting about 4 inches further forward. Why wouldn't ford use this in the rs2000 if they already made it? Anyway I attached some pictures of it. Cheers Mike

I think that's your problem. Tapatalk, sometimes it likes it and sometimes it doesn't.
Clearly, it doesn't in this instance!

Yes thats an australian type E gearbox. They modified tail case rather than modify bodyshell gear lever hole like here

I wonder why they allowed them to make a new part for thier own market. Or why they didn't use this in the rest of the world rather than changing the shells. Are the ratios the same as a standard one?

    Cheers
