fuel pressure would normally be set @3bar , less it will be lean, very lean @ only 1 bar, for afr, you should be looking for around 14.5:1 light throttle 12.5:1 full power

A megasquirt is the 'budget' end of the ECU spectrum & it is good for what it is, but any supplier will caveat use of their systems by saying 'system produced maps will generally get the engine running ONLY, and shouldn't be relied upon as being a finished article' DTA for example when asked to supply a map for an unknown / untried engine combo will often say use their Zetec map as will do enough to start an engine to allow tuning from that point. The other caveat is ' junk in - junk out' ie. if the initial settings are wrong, don't expect a good running engine! Unless you have confidence in what you are doing, unlimited time and money for fuel, 'DIY on-road' tuning is possible, although in most cases a session of 2-3 hrs on a RR dyno is a better bet.

if your running a wide band sensor in closed loop then apparently the self tune option in tunerstudio works quite well.
do you know which version of MS and firmware you have ? and how is your vvt driven ?
