    44 idf vacuum pipes

    Anyone know how the vacuum pipes go on the 44 idfs there is 4 ports on the carbs and 1 on the distributor not sure where they go then is there a special connector to the breather on the block or do they just go to the distributor.

    The official (homologated) way is to use a special connector for 3 pipes (cyl. 2, 3 and 4) to fit into the PCV opening in the block. And the vacuumpipe of the carb for cyl. 1 goes to the distributor but the GP1 distributor is a special one as it has/had a big vacuum-canister.
    Nowadays most people fit a hose from the PCV opening to a breather tank and do not connect vacuumhoses to the the distributor as the vacuumsignal is to low for proper working of the advance mechanism.

    I would use a non-vacuum electronic distributor if possible with an advance curve suited to twin carbs and the cam used plus a breather system like this:
