Idle Speed Control Valve electrical connector
Hi guys,
I am fitting a small turbo (YBP) intake manifold to my 2WD YBB. It's installed in a Mk2 Escort running a Haltech PS1000 ECU.
I am having a lot of trouble identifying the factory loom side plug that connects to the ISCV. I am using the Haltech loom. I don't have an EsCos wiring loom (they are pretty rare here to begin with) to loot the plug from.
Does anyone know what kind/brand the plug is and where it could be sourced?
I've asked Autodynamix but I figured I'd ask the brains trust here as well.
Help! I will appreciate any guidance as I'd like to get running again this year. Lol.
Cheers, Dan

Re: Idle Speed Control Valve electrical connector
Someone over here may have one although cutting a connector off a 'good' loom is probably a sign of madness LOL!
Can you identify what pins do what on the ISCV?
If you can and bearing in mind the aggro finding a connector is posing would a ghetto solution of using regular 3mm blade connectors,
crimped to loose wire and covered with heatshrink, fitted to the pins in the ISCV and then securing them all with either silicone or hot glue?
Even if it need later replacement, hardest bit will be finding a replacement part rather than the wiring !

Thanks Katana,
I'm leaving this as a last resort.
Just seeing if someone can identify the type of plug and perhaps where to source. I know for example, that Autodynamix does a small turbo replacement loom. So they must get these things from somewhere too.
I hear what you are saying though - simply connect it and pot it. Would be faster but I want to be more elegant - if I can!
As for what pins do what - its just a solenoid. I'd have to check the schematic but almost certain its a +ve and and switched (PWM) to ground via ECU.

Can you post a photo of the ISCV ? (connector end)

Hi Miniliteman - long time no hear! Last time was on RS Motorsport Australia. Sadly, not a lot of traffic there anymore and not sure if it is maintained as I sometimes get graphics glitches there.
See attached photo is YBP ISCV - I had to play around with the photo to get it to load so I hope it works.
*edit - yes same as GGR ISCV. Also, upload worked. Yay!
Cheers, Dan

Miniliteman - A friend was so kind as to disconnect the ISCV on his EsCos so I have a photo of what is needed now.

Re: Idle Speed Control Valve electrical connector
Hello,
yes RSM forum is dead I see the same glitches and there isn't a new post on it in 2021.
That ISCV is also used (maybe it is slightly different form-wise) on other Fords from the 80's.
You might find a bit of loom in the scrapyard.
I had the same issue many years ago when I repaired/installed wiring looms.
Couldn't find a common replacement connector, it seems it a Ford-special (like the EEC4 connector).
Closest thing I found was this (see photo); white connector fits the ISCV but it can be mounted 180 degrees (the wrong way) so if you use this you need to glue a bit of plastic to the connector so you cannot mount it the wrong way.
I mounted it with a rubber boot of an AMP connector; that way it is sort-of waterproof and the boot fits over the locking tab on the ISCV so it wont move.
Can send you the white connector with pins if you are stuck.
Grtz, Leon.

Thanks Leon,
Some good ideas here. I'll do a bit more searching and get in touch on that white connector if I don't have any luck.
Just did a search on automotive specialty connectors and the variety is mind boggling e.g. Yazaki. I guess it isn't possible for companies to settle on a standard
Are you still doing the calendars?
Cheers, Dan

Re: Idle Speed Control Valve electrical connector
Sadly no more calendars; a mate used to print them at cost for me and cost for postage has more than doubled (to UK) or tripled (to Aus) !

Re: Idle Speed Control Valve electrical connector
I have a Small Turbo car and had to cut my plug off and graft it on to the new Emtron loom as i could not find one, the same with the phase sensor plug.
I asked the usual places and some others, could not find it anywhere

Good find! Does it come with the little pins?

Re: Idle Speed Control Valve electrical connector
Good question
So i was thinking, there must be a parts catalogue for this and went looking.
I found this most useful resource:
https://parts.ford.com/content/dam/f...il%20Final.pdf
Ford seems intent on selling pigtail kits but personally I sort of dislike that solution.
Part number seems to be wpt441
I think it’s the same connector as used on mustangs from 94-98.
Hope it helps.
