Anyone has been using RallyDesign's Blackline plate type LSD ?

    Dear Friends,

As the title suggests, can anyone share their experience with the mentioned clutch ( plated ) type LSD from Rallydesign especially for trackday and motorsport use ?

I suspect they are cheap for a reason ? Mind you, if it lasts half as long as a proper lsd that is twice as much ? Then you buy 2 cheapies.

Could be. But not all the Chinese made parts necessarily are low quality. It really depends on the manufacturer and Chinese manufacturers do offer various levels of quality. This is why I wondering if their LSDs have a good reputation or not in terms of durability since a LSD is a wear down part.

Now when the (1st) cheapish LSD decides it had enough 1 mile before the finish of the last stage, you wish you had bought a proper item !

Hi, they do a plated one for an Atlas and one for an English. I use an Atlas one and it works fine, not too many events with it yet but I went for it because I know of a good few others being used in the UK with no issues at all.

    Thanks

    Hi Leon,
Exactly, I know the importance of reliability, durability when it comes to motorsport parts. We have been mainly building our Atlas’s with ZF, Gripper and sometimes used Titan and 3J as well.
But, for a particular build due to budget I have been asked to quote for an alternative. That is why I am trying to get user’s feedback.

    Hi,
Many thanks for the feedback. Would be great if you could report/post the condition of the internals when it is dismantled for a rebuild.

If I have it out I will do, I know others who have inspected after a full season and no issues. The Atlas one is a copy of the ZF.

    Cheers
